The Arsonists   Congratulations to the entire Odyssey Theater Ensemble for a very successful run with the play and for the outstanding reviews! FYI -- stills and reviews are available on the The Arsonists page here. The reviews were great. This was an LA Times “Critic’s Choice” pick, and the LA Weekly said “Go!” Additionally, don’t miss the full-length feature of this play that is now online here -- featuring dozens of screencaps and a full recap of the story.     Did You Know? Norbert's directorial credits include: Coyote Cycle at the Magic Theatre, and Heads at the Mark Taper Forum New Works Festival.   My deepest and most sincere thanks to Mr. Weisser for providing so many of the images and a great deal of the information used within the theater section of this website. Norbert has an extensive theatrical background, with well over thirty stage credits. A few of these plays are featured here: The Arsonists, Coyote Cycle, Mary Barnes, See Under: Love, Taking Sides, The Three Sisters and Times Like These, for which Norbert won awards for his outstanding performance as Oskar Weiss. His co-star in Times Like These, Laurie O'Brien, also won an Ovation Award for her performance as Meta Wolff. Mr. Weisser graciously shared a taped version of both The Arsonists and Times Like These recently. What an honor and a privilege to have an opportunity to watch these plays and to be able to share screencaps with you. Won 2003-2003 Ovation Award as Best Actor and LA Weekly Award in 2003 as Best Actor for Times Like These. These are great segments from these plays, so be sure to check them out -- especially if you have never had an opportunity to see Norbert perform on stage. Norbert was nominated for two awards this year: LA Drama Critic’s Circle Award for Best Lead as Mr. Biedermann in The Arsonists. He also received a nomination from the 32nd Annual L.A. Weekly Theater Awards in the category of Male Comedy Performance for his role as Mr. Biedermann. Several other cast members from this play were also nominated for awards.  It is impossible for me to believe that no one from this play won an award -- especially Norbert -- but it is truly an honor that he was recognized, and he was up against some very notable competition. I am sure these nominations are no surprise to anyone who saw him in this play. Norbert and the entire cast were fabulous!  Why he didn’t win will forever be a mystery to me.
